Riding the wave of touchscreen popularity, Sony today unveiled its Bloggie Touch, a pocket-sized video camera that films in full HD for up to four hours and offers uploads to the most popular social video sharing sites including Facebook and YouTube via its built-in USB connection.
The Bloggie Touch captures 1920x1080p high-definition MP4 video and 12.8-megapixel photos on 8GB or 4GB, the feature that distinguishes the two camera models from one another. This new generation Bloggie is thinner, more powerful and features a 3-inch touchscreen in place of the standard LCD screen, compared with previous models.
Filmers can shoot video one-handed, right-side-up or upside-down with its "touch and flick" recording control, search and playback. The Bloggie comes with a clip-on lens adapter to shoot 360 degree panoramic footage and stills.
Bloggie Touch has an F2.8 wide angle lens and an Exmor CMOS sensor, 4x digital zoom, auto focus including auto macro to focus on objects as close as 4-inches away, image stabilization, face detection, built-in USB connection to upload images to a computer, and an HDMI output to connect the camera to an HDTV.
The 4GB model will retail for $180, the 8GB for $200. Bloggie Touch will be available in October.
