AT&T has announced that its LTE network, the company's 4G solution, will be available to
AT&T customers in the middle of 2011.
AT&T operations CEO, John Starkey, did not specify which markets would get 4G speeds , but did say AT&T 4G coverage would reach 70-75 million people . Trials of the LTE service are currently ongoing in Baltimore and Dallas.
Starkey emphasized that AT&T had already spent $700 million in preparing the network for 4G customers, and the company planned to spend more than that in 2011. AT&T expects there to be more than 300 million LTE users by 2015.
