Game Developer Confirms Sony PSP2 Is Real, Powerful
A game developer has openly acknowledged the Sony PSP2 is real and quite powerful. It's the best evidence so far that Sony truly does have a new version of the PlayStation Portable in the works.
Several sources have made mention of a successor to the Sony PSP , but no one has so obliquely acknowledged its existence as Netherrealmes' Shaun Himmerick did in an interview with Industry Gamers.
"We have a PSP2 in the house and we're looking at the engine, like what can it support. Always a big thing for us is the performance. We're running at 60 fps, what can we do and do we have to build all the art assets over. We're definitely looking at them. PSP2 looks like it's a pretty powerful machine," Himmerick said.
Sony has made no official acknowledgment of any sort of PSP2. Himmerick did not mention any specific details about the design of the PSP2, but his opinion of its power may mean good things for gamers who want a powerful handheld console.
In relation to the Nintendo 3DS handheld console , any PSP2 design will instantly be compared to the Nintendo 3DS' ability to show 3-D games. It's quite possible, given Sony's commitment to 3-D games for the PS3 , that the PSP2 is so powerful in order to offer 3-D games just like Nintendo's handheld.
