Intro

Talk Like a Pirate Day rolls around every year on Sept. 19, turning usually quiet, conservative accountants, programmers and writers into swashbuckling, larger than life versions of themselves, ready to plunder the farthest reaches of the Internet.

“Talking like a pirate is fun,” claim Ol' Chumbucket (John Baur) and Cap'n Slappy (Mark Summers), founders of the holiday they established in 1996. “It adds a zest, a swagger, to your everyday conversation."

When humorist Dave Barry latched on to the day in 2002, the holiday eventually became a worldwide celebration and an Internet sensation.

In honor of Talk Like a Pirate Day, TechNewsDaily offers a list of pirate bounty found across the Internet to help our readers talk, tweet and blog like pirates, and maybe win a little booty.
