Dell Unveils 7-Inch Tablet
Old rumors that Dell was working on a 7-inch tablet have been confirmed by Dell's CEO, Michael Dell.
Dell recently released the Streak tablet on the AT&T network. The Streak barely counts as tablet; with only a 5-inch screen, it's basically an oversized smartphone. But the new Dell tablet, leaked months ago under the name Looking Glass , will have the more common 7-inch display seen in upcoming tablets.
Dell confirmed that the 7-inch tablet will run Android, but did not specify which version. The Streak was panned by critics for launching with an outdated version of Android. Other details, including price and release date were also absent.
The new Dell tablet will definitely not be a unique item when it does hit the market. A number of 7-inch tablets, including the Samsung Galaxy Tab , are poised to go on sale, and more will be announced, such as the tablet expected from BlackBerry-maker RIM.
