Adobe to Fix Flaw in Reader and Acrobat

Adobe will release a security update next week to resolve a critical flaw in Reader and Acrobat, the company announced on Thursday (Sept. 30).
The update will be released October 5; it follows the September 8 discovery of the vulnerability which left both Reader and Acrobat open to remote attack .
The update will affect users of Adobe Reader 9.3.4 for Windows, Macintosh and UNIX, Adobe Acrobat 9.3.4 for Windows and Macintosh, and Adobe Reader 8.2.4 and Acrobat 8.2.4 for Windows.
