Google TV Has Netflix Watch Instantly Support
In anticipation of the launch of the first Google TVs this week, Google has unveiled a new site that highlights the best features of the Google TV service. That includes previously unannounced features, such as full Netflix streaming support.
The website tour of Google TV covers the basics of Search, Apps and Web access. There are also the standard Dual View and DVR capabilities expected of a set-top box .
Google has secured content from many broadcasting networks. Popular stations such as NBC, TBS, TNT, HBO, CNN and Cartoon Network will all feature shows on Google TV. There are also apps for following specific kinds of programming or information. For instance, basketball fans can use the NBA Game Time app to follow stats and scores in real-time along with game highlights. There will be similar capabilities for following stocks and the news.
One of the biggest advantages of Google TV will be how well it integrates with other media sources. To that end, Google has added full support for streaming sources, including Amazon on Demand and Netflix Watch Instantly. Anyone who already has a Netflix account will automatically be able to stream movies and TV shows through Google TV.
