T-Mobile Offers Unlimited Smartphone Tethering for $15
T-Mobile has announced new pricing for those who want to use their phone as an Internet connection for a laptop or mobile device. Unlimited tethering will be $15 per month.
T-Mobile consistently prices phone plans below the competition, and this is no exception. What would normally cost $30 on other carriers is half that on T-Mobile. Keep in mind, though, that the $15 is on top of what a user pays for data. For instance, unlimited data and unlimited tethering will cost a total of $45 per month. Users must renew their two-year contract in order to qualify for tethering.
The tethering plan includes connecting a phone to another device by cable, but it also covers phones that are able to rebroadcast a data connection as a Wi-Fi signal for Wi-Fi-capable devices. However, the plan is only available for "select smartphones." The company hasn't specified which phones those are yet.
T-Mobile also hasn't given a solid date for when the tethering plan will be available, only saying it would be ready for the "holiday season."
