Early Look at LG's Dual-Core Android Smartphone
LG has been putting more emphasis on Android devices lately, and it looks like the newest handset will be a doozy.
Some leaked images and specs reveal the next phone in LG's Android Optimus line will have quite a lot of power, including a dual-core processor that hasn't been seen in smartphones yet.
In fact, all the specs in the phone seem outsized, including a 4-inch touchscreen display, 1080p high-definition video recording and 8-megapixel camera.
The processor in LG's phone is the Tegra 2, which is expected to be a media powerhouse because of its graphics acceleration capabilities. And good news for those who hate bloatware and useless apps pre-programmed on their phones: A tipster says LG's phone will run a stock version of Android . It's not clear which version of Android that is, though.
The new handset, codenamed Star, will likely be ready for launch in early 2011.
