Hulu Plus Price Drops to $7.99/Month
Hulu's new streaming video subscription service has received a price cut, as predicted. However, it didn't drop quite as far as everyone hoped.
Originally advertised at $10 per month, many people felt that the offering wasn't good enough for the price, especially when Netflix has a streaming plan with a bigger plan for slightly less. So Hulu dropped the price $2.
Hulu Plus promises to offer more content than it's free service. The free side (usually) only has the five most recent episodes of any given show.
"With Hulu Plus, it's now possible to watch any episode from the current season of watercooler shows like Glee, Modern Family, 30 Rock and dozens more; whenever and wherever they want," said Hulu CEO Jason Kilar in a company statement.
It remains to be seen if consumers think a $2 price cut is worth it. And good news for those who already signed up for Hulu Plus at $10, Hulu plans to refund you.
"Any users who subscribed during the preview period will also receive a credit for the difference from the $9.99 preview price to be applied automatically to their next billing cycle," reads the company statement.
In addition, Hulu announced another device that would be compatible with its service. The Roku box will now enjoy full support for Hulu Plus.
Hulu Plus is available for a 1-week free trial, so definitely take a look and see if they have what you want before paying anything.
