Kindle 2 for $89 at Amazon Black Friday Sale

If you've been trying to decide whether or not to get an e-book reader, now may be the time to do it. Amazon plans to sell the Kindle 2 e-reader for $89 this Friday.

Granted, it's not the latest version , but it still works just as well, has an e-ink screen and connects to the Kindle book store .

Amazon confirmed via its Twitter account that this deal will be available starting at noon EST on Friday. This is an effort to get rid of a Kindle 2 surplus so obviously supplies are limited and customers will get one on a first-come-first-served basis. If you prefer the latest Kindle, with an e-ink screen that has 50 percent better contrast, it's still available for $140.
