Acer Also Has 10-inch Windows 7 Tablet Coming in Feb.
Acer seems to be in a tablet frenzy. Yesterday, the company unveiled several Android tablets, including a dual-screen laptop/tablet hybrid. Apparently that's not enough for Acer because it has also announced a Windows 7 tablet.
So far Windows 7 hasn't had a lot of success as a tablet platform, but that hasn't discouraged Acer . In fact, their unnamed Windows 7 tablet will be out before any of Acer's Android tablets when it launches in February 2011.
The Acer Windows 7 tablet will have a 10-inch touchscreen display, but there are very few details beyond that. It will have two 1.3 megapixel cameras, one in front and the other in back, as well as WiFi and 3G connectivity.
Perhaps the most intriguing fact is that this tablet will use some sort of AMD processor. That's unusual because basically every other mobile device, and especially tablets, run on Qualcomm or Intel Atom processors.
As shown in the product shot, Acer is also planning a keyboard dock for its Windows 7 tablet.
