Samsung seems to have found the holy grail of marketing acronym agglomerations. The company is teasing a 3-D OLED HDTV and has taken it one step further by adding another catch-phrase: This TV is flexible.
Flexible displays are a staple of science fiction but are quickly becoming a reality. Samsung's flexible OLED concept is the result of a design contest the company held and won't actually be a production model any time soon.
That doesn't mean it's any less exciting, not because we necessarily want to watch TV in the corner of our homes but because it means thinner and more versatile displays. It could mean displays that can be pasted or hung just about anywhere consumers want, and not just in large TV sizes either.
For now, experts estimate this kind of consumer technology is still 5 to 10 years away.
