Blackout and Beyonce Dominate Super Bowl Tweets
There are times that Twitter can be annoying (no, I don't want to see the Scientology ad again, thanks, friends). But, in essence, some people really do know what they're talking about.
Last night, during the highly viewed Super Bowl match-up between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers, users of the social site flocked to make their comments throughout. Whether it was with the commercials (the "Brotherhood" ad from Budweiser was much loved; the awkward GoDaddy.com kiss not so much) or the events with the game itself, no one held back. Buzz60 recently posted a video highlighting some of the best tweets out there.
Beyonce was definitely the focus of many tweets, with some showing excitement over the reunion of Destiny's Child on stage (as brief as it was) or others wondering if it was over yet. A user by the name of @erinmallorylong was among the fans, stating, "NOW IS MY TURN TO TELL MY HUSBAND TO SHUT UP." Yes, all caps.
The blackout was another heavily talked about subject on Twitter, with sarcastic commentary aplenty. While the cause is still being investigated, @SeinfeldToday, a non-official account that acts as a modern-day fill-in for the popular TV show "Seinfeld," stated "Kramer gets lost in the Super Dome on his way to his seats at the Super Bowl. Accidentally knocks out all the lights." Another user, @jonweisman, suggested that the wisecracking air traffic controller from the movie "Airplane!" accidentally pulled the plug on the lights (as he did with the runway in the film).
Finally, folks didn't mind letting 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh have it over his slamming of referees within the game, with user @srabe noting that "I bet Jim Harbaugh used to turn off the Nintendo when his brother was winning Tecmo bowl." ("Tecmo Bowl" is a popular NES football simulation.)
Want more hilarious Super Bowl tweets, Just do a search for "Superbowl" on Twitter and you're sure to find them. Just be careful when you search under "Godaddy kiss." Yuck.
