300,000 Android Phones Activated Every Day

We knew Android was popular, but this stat from Android head Andy Rubin still surprised us. According to Rubin's Twitter account, consumers are activating 300,000 Android phones every day.
What's even more surprising is just how fast that number is increasing. Just last August, Google CEO Eric Schmidt said that 200,000 Android phones were purchased each day, and now only a few months later that number has increased by half.
It's obvious that Rubin considers this a big achievement given that this is only the second tweet he's ever made. It's also a commentary on just how many Android phones there are on the market, and as the Android tablets start to multiply the number should continue to skyrocket.
