Video: First Look at Notion Ink Adam Tablet Interface
The guys at Notion Ink have teased us with the Adam tablet and its amazing display for quite some time now, all without actually producing the tablet. It appears the Adam might finally be close to release, though, judging by this demo video.
The Notion Ink Adam uses a special Pixel Qi transflective display that allows it to operate like an e-ink screen or a regular LCD with the flip of a switch. Plus, as the video shows, there are many other promising features to look forward to.
The video is part of a series the company is putting out as a lead-in to the Consumer Electronics Show in January, where presumably the Adam tablet will make its official debut.
The video shows a fairly slick interface that manages multiple applications at once and allows for easy switching between them. Browsing several Internet tabs while running a few programs in the background didn't seem to be a problem, suggesting the Notion Ink Adam has the hardware to backup the multitasking. Below is another video giving a look at the multitasking management system.
Even though the Notion Ink Adam seems pretty complete, there is no official release date yet. The company has expressed hope that it will ship in January, so we expect some kind of announcement at CES in early January. We'll keep you posted.
