Verizon iPhone Unlimited Data Might Not Happen
Everyone has just assumed that the newly announced Verizon iPhone would be able to take advantage of Verizon's unlimited data plan. Unfortunately, that may not be the case.
A music site called Evolver.fm asked Verizon specifically if the iPhone would have unlimited data options , and a company spokeswoman would only say, "I can't confirm it." And Verizon never mentioned any kind of unlimited data plans during the announcement or since.
Could this mean the Verizon iPhone will have data caps just like the AT&T iPhone?
It's no secret that Verizon executives have been planning to switch to tiered data plans with monthly caps, and Verizon's reluctance to speak on the matter certainly doesn't bode well. If the company planned to offer unlimited data for the iPhone, they would publicize it more because it's a major advantage over the AT&T iPhone. In fact, unlimited data has been one of the most celebrated things about a Verizon iPhone so far. Verizon's silence indicates that unlimited data may not be part of the plan.
Of course, dodgy statements from public relations don't mean this is confirmed yet. It may be more complicated than a yes or no answer, so stay tuned.
