Technology may be all around us, but according to most restaurant goers, it doesn't belong at the table.
A new report from Zagat found that when it comes to table etiquette, 64 percent of people consider it "rude and inappropriate" to text , tweet, talk and e-mail on a mobile phone at a restaurant.
Although most people believe technology should be put away when dining out, 88 percent feel it is acceptable to take pictures of their food. Taking a picture of food at the table is likely a sign of admiration and excitement of being where they are, rather than using their phone to talk and communicate with others .
This is good news for the 17 percent of those who admit to using their smartphones to take pictures of food plating and of their companions.
