'Star Wars' Blu-ray Discs Coming Sept. 27, Amazon Says
For the dedicated Star Wars fan, it must have been pretty hard to watch George Lucas announce the coming "Star Wars" saga on Blu-ray high-def without hearing a solid release date. Relax, young (or maybe old) padawan — Amazon has you covered.
Online retailer Amazon.com has listed the "Star Wars" Blu-ray set with a ship date of Sept. 27 (for preorders). While that's still a long way off (far, far away, perhaps?), at least now you know when to start checking your mailbox.
Lucas announced the complete "Star Wars" saga on Blu-ray at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show this earlier this month. He promised 30 hours of special features that cover all six movies. Customers can buy the full six-movie set or each trilogy separately (for the hard-core fans who still pretend Jar Jar never happened).
Amazon currently has preorders of the full saga listed at $89.99, instead of the list price of $139.99.
