HP Topaz WebOS Tablet Specs Revealed
Following the initial leak about Hewlett Packard's upcoming webOS tablets, another source has revealed a considerable amount of information about one of them, the HP Topaz.
We've seen a rendering of the HP tablet and heard an HP executive hint that the company will reveal tablets on Feb. 9, but this particular leak includes much more specific information.
PreCentral reports that the HP Topaz, a 10-inch device compared to the 7-inch Opal , will have a 1.2GHz processor along with a separate Adreno 220 graphics processor. That will make the Topaz a powerful media machine.
The media will display on a 1024 by 768 pixel resolution display with multitouch capabilities. Inside is 512MB of RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, integrated Beats audio and two batteries that will team up to give the device 8 hours of battery life.
Following in the video chat footsteps pioneered by the iPhone 4, the Topaz will also have a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. It will connect via micro-USB port and include a headphone jack and SIM card tray.
HP will reportedly have only a Wi-Fi version ready for launch, but 3G and eventually 4G versions will follow. The Topaz will be able to use the Touchstone charging technology featured in the Palm Pre, the popular webOS smartphone.
In fact, webOS might be the most attractive part about the device because its interface is so well suited to tablet-size devices. It has not yet been featured on anything larger than a smartphone, so this will be the first webOS tablet .
