Verizon Guy Can ‘Hear You Now’ in New iPhone Commercial
On the heels of the Verizon iPhone pre-order launch, the company has brought back its token campaign featuring the "can you hear me now?" spokesman.
The new 30-second commercial, which hit YouTube last night (Feb. 3), pokes at AT&T's reputation for unreliable anytime, anywhere service.
The clip shows off the Verizon iPhone's sleek angles as a voiceover says: "It's beautiful; it's intelligent; even genius. But does your network work ?"
Actor Paul Marcarelli – who we haven’t seen in quite awhile – then picks up and responds: "Yes, I can hear you now."
Marcarelli began appearing in Verizon Wireless commercials back in 2002, where Entertainment Weekly named him one of the most intriguing people of the year. Before this latest commercial, he appeared in various commercial spots for the company up until 2011.
