Best Buy Gives February Sale Dates for Xoom, Thunderbolt
Two of the most anticipated Android mobile devices are still without official release dates. Best Buy may have just revealed them for us, though.
A Best Buy outlet in Michigan posted information on its Facebook page about upcoming releases. Along with the Verizon iPhone 4 and a Samsung hotspot, the post also mentions a Feb. 14 release date for the HTC Thunderbolt smartphone and a Feb. 24 release date for the Motorola Xoom tablet .
The Thunderbolt is Verizon's first major 4G phone and has quite impressive specs. The Motorola Xoom has equally respectable hardware, but it's widely anticipated more for the operating system. The Xoom will run Android 3.0 Honeycomb, which is the first version of Android that is expected to be competitive with the iPad (Android tablets haven't been a huge success so far).
Stay tuned because if the Thunderbolt launch is really that close, Verizon should have an official announcement soon.
