Tech site iFixit got their hands on the new Verizon iPhone and were quick to dissect it. After cracking open the outer layer, it's apparent that the insides of the new model are a bit different.
To start, the location and design of the RF components – which make up the EMI (electromagnetic interference) shields, connector location and board layout – are different than the previous iPhone model . The vibrator motor has also been redesigned.
According to iFixit, it's "quieter, a little softer to feel and made a better sound on the table."
The antenna has also been reworked, and the inside chip also supports both GSM and CDMA . This may mean a universal device could be on the horizon in the future.
