Will iPhone 5 Have Larger 4-inch Display?
Finally we can step away from the iPhone Nano rumors and get back to gossip from the original rumor mill: the iPhone 5. Industry sources says the iPhone 5 will be getting bigger, with a 4-inch display.
The information comes from DigiTimes contacts who are "upstream component suppliers." Such sources would be privy to iPhone 5 design information, especially because it would be entering production soon in anticipation of a June or July announcement. However, keep in mind that DigiTimes' rumor accuracy record is patchy, so this is far from confirmed.
That being said, it wouldn't be surprising for Apple to bump up the iPhone screen size. Displays of 4 inches and more are quickly becoming the norm in the smartphone market, and the iPhone screen is starting to look small by comparison. The Retina Display resolution would be nice at 4 inches, too.
Such a change would also mesh well with rumors of the iPhone Nano . The smaller iPhone was rumored to be half the size of an iPhone, which would be small indeed. But half the size of a 4-inch iPhone 5 would be much more believable.
