4G iPhones in the Works, Verizon CEO Says
Many people have despaired that the iPhone is not yet compatible with the growing 4G LTE networks that offer superfast data speeds. Verizon CEO Dan Mead promises that 4G LTE devices are certainly forthcoming from Apple.
Mead told the Wall Street Journal that we'll "see more coming from Apple on LTE. They understand the value proposition of LTE and I feel very confident that they are going to be a part of it."
Unfortunately, the most important information — namely, when we can expect 4G iPhones — is still a mystery. It does, however, reassure Apple fans that 4G iPhones and iPads are in the works.
The iPad 2 is expected to be announced on March 2 , and it's possible that the Apple tablet will have LTE connectivity. The same could hold true for the iPhone 5 expected this summer. If Apple doesn't include 4G in this year's product cycle, the iPad and iPhone will be woefully slow compared with the wave of 4G phones and tablets coming out for the Android operating system.
