Today’s Cyberthreats: Ashton Kutcher Hacked, iPad 2 Scams
Each weekday, TechNewsDaily’s colleagues at SecurityNewsDaily give us a roundup on what’s worrying the guardians of cyberspace. Here’s what’s happening:
ASHTON KUTCHER HACKED: Actor and all-around cutup Ashton Kutcher’s Twitter account was hijacked Wednesday (March 2), putting him in company with Lil Wayne, Axl Rose, Britney Spears and possibly Kim Kardashian, most of whom have had their Twitter feeds compromised (though Kardashian may have just forgotten her password).
IPAD 2 SCAMS: In the week leading up to the March 11 release of the new iPad 2, Sophos security expert Graham Cluley expects online criminals to ramp up their efforts and lure in victims with scams that dangle the new device as bait.
WORDPRESS DDOS ATTACK: WordPress suffered a denial-of-service attack Thursday (March 3), preventing many of the popular blogging platform’s users from uploading new posts. The company said the attack may have had something to do with one of their “non-English” blogs.
