HTC Thunderbolt Release on March 17
The rumored launch date for the HTC Thunderbolt continues to change, but this time we have the most authoritative assertion yet that the first 4G smartphone on Verizon will be out on March 17.
The most recent rumors indicated the HTC Thunderbolt would be released March 21 , but an HTC regional sales manager tweeted that the Thunderbolt would indeed launch March 17. (The manager's Twitter account has since been deleted.)
A leaked internal e-mail corroborates the tweeted launch date. The e-mail lists projected release dates for several Verizon products, and the Thunderbolt was listed for March 17.
There still isn't any official information from HTC or Verizon, but HTC's Facebook page says the official Thunderbolt launch date will be announced soon. While that can technically mean anything, Thunderbolt fans who have already seen several rumored release dates come and go will probably agree March 17 isn't soon enough.
