AT&T to Carry Acer Iconia Android Tablet This Summer
|
ORLANDO, Fla. – AT&T will soon offer an Android tablet to compete with those on the other three major networks, the company announced here Tuesday (March 22) at the CTIA Wireless conference.
AT&T plans to carry the Acer Iconia tablet starting in early summer.
"This tablet is packed with features that will enable HD gaming and exceptional video playback. It offers a first-class on-the-go entertainment experience," said David Haight, vice president of business development at AT&T.
The Acer Iconia A501 is a 10-inch tablet that runs on Android 3.0 Honeycomb and can connect to 4G. It also uses a 1GHz Tegra 250 dual-core processor.
The Iconia A501 will go up against the Motorola Xoom on Verizon, the LG G-Slate on T-Mobile and the HTC View 4G on Sprint. Except for the View 4G they all run Honeycomb and have similar features.
AT&T hasn’t revealed any prices yet for the Acer Iconia, so there are many possibilities considering the price point for tablets is still changing.
