Behind-the-Scenes Facebook Special to Air on MTV
The office life of the Facebook empire was dramatized in the Oscar-award winning film "The Social Network" last year, but now MTV will take an in-depth, reality TV-style look at what happens behind closed doors at the social media company's Palo Alto headquarters.
An episode of MTV's "Diary" series airing this week – Wednesday at 11 p.m. ET – will give viewers a glimpse into the personalities and daily activities of Facebook .
According to a blog post on MTV's Website, viewers will get to see Facebook's famous "hack-a-thon" – a 24-hour, no-coded-barred event in which employees are directed to ditch their normal duties and start pet tech projects they've always wanted to create but never found the time to pursue.
The 30-minute special, called "Diary of Facebook", will feature various employees, from founder Mark Zuckerberg and a technical engineer named Pedram to a consumer-marketing employee named Erin, as they all work to keep the company thriving.
