TEXAS DATA BREACH: A massive data breach at the Texas state comptroller’s office exposed the names, Social Security numbers, and in some cases dates of birth and driver’s license numbers of 3.5 million residents.
FLASH FLAW: Cybercriminals are hiding flawed Adobe Flash files in Microsoft Word documents and using them to carry out online attacks.
RANSOMWARE SCAM: Researchers at the security firm F-Secure found a Trojan that is freezing users’ screens, and then tricking them into making three-minute long-distance calls in order to get a code to unlock the screen.
