Long-Delayed White iPhone 4 to Finally Hit Stores
Apple is gearing up to finally release a white model of its iPhone 4 in the next few weeks.
According to a Bloomberg report, the latest version of the iPhone – which was put on hold for 10 months while the company dealt with manufacturing challenges , will be available from both AT&T and Verizon by the end of the month.
Apple had promised the white handset last summer after initially releasing the iPhone 4 in black. However, Apple ended up having to cite various technical difficulties in getting the phone out the door as the post-launch months dragged on, and an Apple spokesperson in October said the phone wouldn't see the light of day until spring.
But last month, an Apple executive via Twitter responded to a 16-year-old kid named Eric, stating that the white version of the smartphone will in fact hit shelves this spring.
"The white iPhone will be available this spring (and it is a beauty!)," wrote Phil Schiller, Apple's vice president of worldwide product marketing, on Twitter.
The new white model may attract customers while the company works on the next generation of the iPhone.
