Punching Pro: The Robot You Can Fight With
If you’re the type that sometimes gets those urges to punch someone, and assault charges just aren't your cup of tea, an Australian engineer has developed the perfect solution. The aptly named Punching Pro is an automated fighting robot that you can duke it out with.
Kris Tressider wanted to create a robot that enables users to practice their punches and combinations, while also being able to practice their defensive moves. "You set independent fighting conditions agility, speed and power on a control panel from differing level settings, virtually unlimited levels when combined and programmed," explains his website.
According to a report from IEEE Spectrum, "the robot can be adjusted in innumerable different ways, and it's not just repeating the same motions over again: it randomly throws both jabs and hooks at different speeds and from slightly different directions." Not to mention there's a 'berserk mode', the description of which falls to the user's imagination.
For those of you interested in getting in on the ground level, Tressider - who is currently looking for investors – hopes to turn the Punching Pro into commercial product, with a target price of around $1,000.
