BlackBerry Bold 9900 Hands-On: Fast, Slim, and Familiar
Here at BlackBerry World in Orlando we nabbed some quick hands-on time with the new BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930. Equipped with a 1.2-GHz processor and 2.8-inch touchscreen, the phone sports an interface which RIM refers to as "liquid graphics." We observed swift and fluid response when we interacted with the phone's menus and launched applications.
That said, other than a speed bump the interface doesn’t seem all much different from the current BlackBerry 6 UI. Once we started digging around a bit, we noticed that the Bold 9900 offers smoother web surfing than previous BlackBerrys, thanks to an updated browser. We also appreciated the handset's high-end design and slim size.
Is any of this enough to keep current BlackBerry owners from jumping the ship to Android or iPhone?
Check out the video below for a closer look and decide for yourself.
