MyAT&T Down for Two Days and Counting
AT&T's customer service site My AT&T has been down since Saturday. AT&T representatives on the company's Facebook and Twitter pages have attributed the problem to "routine maintenance updates."
On the My AT&T portal, customers receive the following message:
"We are enhancing your online experience, and myAT&T is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience."
Kudos to AT&T support staff for personally responding to their Facebook fans and Twitter followers. However, it seems that they've been limited to a rote and routine response. At this time, customers have been advised to pay their bills by phone.
AT&T estimates another 24 to 48 hours before the site is back up and running, according to a recent tweet.
As of the end of 2010, AT&T reported it had 95.5 million subscribers.
TechNewsDaily has reached out to AT&T's network services department. "I can confirm it’s a planned, routine update," Mari Melguizo, AT&T spokesperson said in an email.
