A Retro Handset For Your Mobile

The old black rotary phone can seem hopelessly antiquated -- no wireless connection and it doesn't even have speed dial.
But the old handsets still can't be beat for comfort. You can hold them between your head and shoulder, for one thing. Why not combine the comfort of an old-school handset with a cell phone? All you need to do is find a handset -- preferably a late model with the standard jack in it.
Take a cell phone handset and cut off the plug, stripping the wires inside. A clip-on RJ11 jack can be had at Radio Shack for a few pennies (they come in boxes containing dozens). Clip on the jack and use a male-male connector. Voila, you have a retro look and a handset that is much easier to hear! If you don't want to build one yourself, there are several outlets that sell them though the price is a bit higher.
