Make a Microphone Like the Pros
|
One of the down sides of recording sound -- be it for ringtones or anything else -- is that it never sounds like what you hear. In fact, the effects of recording sound through a single microphone are because people hear through two ears while a microphone is a single device.
How to get around that? Do what the pros do and use two, called binaural microphones. There are several outlets for them including Amazon.com. The only difference is if you want professional quality or not. In a pinch, you can make your own if you think you can handle a soldering iron. Then the only limit is how far apart you place the mics – pros use dummy heads, but you could always just wear them on yours.
