Android Market Redesign Rolling Out to Phones
After teasing Android smartphone owners with a new design for the Android Market, Google is finally starting to send out the update that will bring it to Android Froyo and Gingerbread phones.
The new design is reminiscent of the Metro UI design in the Windows Phone interface. Regardless of the design influence, it's easy to use and much easier on the eye than the current Android Market design. Check out the sneak peek above for an idea of how it works.
The changes include the content stores, not just apps . That means that buying e-books, renting movies or downloading apps all happens in the same interface.
The Market update is available for smartphones running Android 2.2 (Froyo) or 2.3 (Gingerbread). Since the rollout seems to be happening in stages, don't be surprised if your phone hasn't updated yet, but you can expect it soon.
