Apple Lists iPad Ready Sites
One of the greatest debates surrounding the iPad is whether the lack of Flash compatibility – Flash being the software that powers 70 percent of Internet video and thousands of major sites – would cripple the iPad's Web browsing experience. To allay these fears, Apple has started publishing a list of Web sites that have already made themselves compatible with the iPad.
These iPad-ready sites include CNN, Reuters, New York Times, Vimeo, Time, Major League Baseball, The White House, Virgin America, Sports Illustrated, Flickr, People Magazine and TED.
And with the influence the iPad is having on Web development , more are sure to follow.
These sites are all using HTML5 , the next generation of the code that forms the foundation of the Internet, to bypass Flash software and display video and interactive content on many devices, including the iPad and many smartphones that also don't have Flash compatibility.
