Hacker-Proof USB Drive

Data security is on a lot of people's minds. One of the limitations of software-based passwords is that they are vulnerable to certain kinds of hacks. Any software-based password system can be cracked eventually (as Apple found out with iTunes ).
One solution is to go to the hardware itself, and that's where the Black Box Innovations comes in. The Florida-based company makes a USB drive with a keyboard locking mechanism. It's basically a small keypad on the drive, with which the user enters a 10-digit code. The big advantage here is that keylogging software won't pick up the password as you're bypassing the computer entirely. Make too many attempts and the drive locks up for two minutes. When the computer shuts down, is disconnected or sleeps, the drive locks.
This system isn't immune to any future hacks -- to promise that would be foolish. But it does offer a better way to protect sensitive data when you aren't sure of the computer you connect to.
