Aviiq Charger Stops Power Cord Overload
|
Power cords are inconvenient -- and any device that helps manage them is welcome. For students this is an especially sticky problem: battery life on smartphones can be shorter than we'd like, who wants to lug around several chargers? Aviiq seems to have an answer, and it even looks pretty good.
The company's portable charging station features four USB ports that hook up to the power supply. Besides powering several devices (or recharging that phone that is about to die on you) the whole thing has some cool design features. such as a slimmer wall adapter that only covers one socket at a time (in this regard the biggest mystery of all is why electronics companies keep on making the bulky ones, but I digress).
One thing that makes this easier to deal with than the universal USB chargers is that it has enough oomph to charge an iPad, and if you hook up your laptop it can sync devices while charging. The device sells for about $80 -- not much more expensive than two chargers would be.
