The Retro iPhone Amplifier
There are a number of amplifier solutions for the iPhone and iPods , including simply running out the connection via the headphone jack and AirPlay.
But if you want a combination retro/modern look for your iPhone or iPod (the design looks a bit like something from the movie Sleeper) this will be for you.
It's called the Phonefone III from Science + Sons. It's basically an amplifier, but it uses it's unique shape to boost the sound as opposed to a lot of raw power. Designed for all three generations iPhone models (up to the iPhone 4) it's a beautiful piece of work. It can boost the sound, according to the company, by a factor of four, up to 60 decibels (which is quite loud).
For $195 (Canadian, which at current exchange rates is near parity with the greenback) it can be yours from the web site, or you can pick it up if you happen to be in Toronto.
