Opt Out of Verizon Wireless Tracking
If you are a Verizon customer -- say you are rocking a new Thunderbolt -- you may have received an email that says the mobile phone company will be tracking certain information about you, mostly your location and online habits.
It is possible to opt out of this. It takes a bit of doing but the good people at GottaBeMobile have the instructions. You have to log into your Verizon Wireless account and plow through the “opt-out” menus (one asks if it is okay to use demographic information in banners).
Whether or not a mass opt-out alters Verizon’s behavior remains to be seen. But it certainly can’t hurt to check your privacy settings in any case.
