Toshiba to Display Halloween Costume Photos in Times Square
|
Toshiba wants to put a picture of you in your Halloween costume in the middle of New York City’s Times Square.
The company has launched an app that allows Facebook users to upload a picture of themselves in their costumes for the chance to be displayed on Toshiba’s massive LED display over Times Square. Toshiba is accepting photo submissions starting today (Oct. 27).
Once a photo is uploaded using the "Your Face on Toshiba Vision" tab on Toshiba’s Innovation Facebook page, people can vote for their friend’s picture. The 10 images with the most votes will be selected to be displayed above Times Square on the company’s Toshiba Vision screen.
For those not in New York City, users from around the world can check out all the photos being shown in Times Square through the company’s live feed tab on its Toshiba Innovation Facebook page. [Read: Social Media Statistics: Mind-Boggling Facts About the Medium]
Everyone who uploads photos will be able to save and print them, share them with friends, post them on their Facebook wall, or send them as a tweet.
Toshiba said the Halloween contest will be the first of many themed opportunities for users to "Put Your Face on Toshiba Vision."
