Samsung has a solar powered laptop and Apple is hinting at a solar powered iPhone. But if you want to power up several different devices Third Wave Power has developed the mPowerpad.
It looks a bit like a tablet but it is really a solar-powered battery that can be adjusted for different devices. The interface is pretty cool too, as you pick what device you are charging – a tablet, phone, or radio for example – by tilting it. Total power storage is 2,500 mAh, or approximately enough to power an iPad 2 for the usual eight to ten hours.
The device even comes with an utrasonic bug repeller and reading light. So for campers, this is especially handy. Third Wave Power says it plans to ship in early 2012 and sell the device for $80.
