This Mini-Cam Works Underwater

HD video is a great thing and so is being able to get cool action shots when you go skydiving, mountain biking, or surfing, But most HD cams need some kind of housing to protect them. Oregon Scientific has announced one for the UK that doesn’t – it comes waterproof to 20 meters right out of the box.
The ATC Mini Action Camera from Oregon Scientific doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of a professional camera -- it takes video at up to 720p rather than 1040p, and the photos are a relatively small 1.3 megapixels. But even so, it offers 1.5 hours of recording time, a built-in mic, and can even be set up with a helmet, handlebar, or surfboard bracket. As an added bonus it is in a silicone sleeve, which can dull the bumps and knocks this is likely to see (though it won’t help much if you drop it). It stores data on an SD card, is USB compatible and works with both Macs and PCs.
At £199 ($317) the price point isn’t bad either, though at this juncture it’s only up for pre-order.
