‘Incredible’ Droid Smartphone Specs Confirmed by Verizon

Verizon confirmed today that it would carry the Incredible as part of their Droid line of Android phones.
In a press release, the carrier confirmed recent rumors that the Incredible will sport the latest Snapdragon 1GHz processor (a first for a Verizon phone), a 3.7-inch OLED touchscreen with 480x800 resolution, an 8 megapixel camera, 8GB of internal memory that can be expanded by microSD card and the Android 2.1 operating system .
The smartphone also has an optical joystick and dedicated touch-sensitive Home, Menu, Back and Search buttons.
People familiar with HTC's Sense user interface will also be happy to know the Incredible will have an updated version of Sense overlaid on the Android OS. Sense works to give the user faster access to menus and important information on the phone.
The Incredible will be available for pre-order beginning April 19 and be in stores April 29. It will retail for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a two-year contract .
