Video: Microsoft Office on Windows Phone 7
Microsoft continues to release a steady stream of reminders about upcoming features in Windows Phone 7, the company's latest smartphone operating system. This time around, it's a couple of videos showing that Microsoft Office really can look good on a cell phone screen.
The first video shows off the Office hub inside Windows Phone 7. This is the main area to access Office features, and the side-scrolling list of menus show just how many options it offers. The overall design aesthetic is replicated from the entire Windows Phone 7 system, making Office feel like an integral part of the phone, not a tacked-on feature.
The second video is specifically about email, but the video also shows Office integration in email and how users can edit and attach Office documents directly from the email application.
While the interface is radically different , and honestly quite refreshing, compared to past versions of Windows Mobile document editors, the core functionality remains the same. Microsoft Office in Windows Phone 7 will let users create, edit and share documents of any kind all from the phone.
Windows Phone 7 will be coming to smartphones from several major manufacturers at the end of this year.
