Get Your Phone Ready For Extreme Close-Ups
|
You can put a regular camera lens on an iPhone, and there's even an app that creates 360 degree, fisheye-lens effects. Now, you can add a macro lens for close-up photos from your iPhone camera with the iPhone 4/4S Macro Lens (yes, that's the name). With it, you could, for example, take photos of small insects close up, or that blooming rose.
The lens offers 8x magnification and sticks to your phone with an adhesive gel pad. Of course, you won't be taking photos of flowers all the time. That's it. The gel pad stays sticky and you can easily remove it and reattach it whenever you want. In fact, the lens should work with any phone that has a smooth, flat surface of glass or glossy plastic. Inventor Chris Ferguson says he has tried it on several Android phones, including Nokia, HTC and Samsung models.
The lens sells for $69 from Ferguson's Etsy site.
