In a few months it’ll be beach time. You have a whole music library on your phone or MP3 player. But it's no fun to try to listen to a set of itsy-bitsy speakers, and you don’t want sand and water in your speaker dock, anyway.
The Eco Terra is one answer. It's basically a dock for the iPod, iPhone or similarly sized phone or MP3 player. Instead of using the 30-pin Apple connector, it hooks up through the headphone jack, so it works with any device.
The phone or player goes inside a compartment that protects it from the elements. You can listen as the sand blows or the water gets near. The Eco Terra can even go under water and keep your player safe. The compartment is big enough to hold other stuff as well, such as your wallet and keys.
The Eco Terra is powered by four C-cell batteries (just like the boom boxes of old) and can be plugged into the wall as well. It sells for $150.
