Nikon's Coolshot Rangefinder Will Up Your Golf Game
Spring is here and the greens are beckoning. You've got the graphite and titanium clubs and dream of driving like Tiger Woods. But for that, you need a little extra help. The new Nikon Coolshot laser rangefinder (expected price about $350) does just that, allowing you to zero in on the flagstick out to 600 yards.
The Coolshot also offers 6x magnification to get a close-up of the pin, a wider field of view than previous models and an LED display for easy reading when the round runs on 'til dusk. The Coolshot's continuous measurement feature allows it to keep the laser straight even in a shaky hand. It even has an eyepiece with a little more room between the lens and your eye, designed for people with glasses.
Nikon's latest isn't just for golfers. Rangefinders are useful for hunters. And they provide DIYers with a perfectly straight line that beats a plumb bob and more with accurate measurement than a tape measure can manage. The Coolshot is expected to go on sale in the next few weeks.
